SUPREME LAUNCHES COLLECTION WITH DICKIES AND GUNDAM
And Vans. And The North Face.
Supreme topped the year with some cherry on top collaborations. After a silent tease in August, the biggest streetwear brand probably on the planet will launch Supreme x Dickies as one of its last collections of the FW21 season.
The collaboration won't merely feature a set of logo-laden 874 pants. The collection will also opt for a bespoke set of insulated Dickies heritage carpenter workwear roots — which go back 99 years — that offers a comfortable and quilted feeling for extra winter warmth. The quality ensures that each pant is riveted for hardiness and washed for softness.
The Fall 2021 capsule introduces a Quilted Denim Work Jacket, Coverall and Pant, each of which arrives in four color options. As well as the standard black and blue designs, Supreme has also transformed the pieces into a bright pink color and a black and white camouflage print. The items are then finished with a Dickies tag above the iconic Supreme red box logo.
The collab-happy company Supreme surely took their time to jam together with Dickies, the unofficial-official brand of skate pants, and fans have been wondering whether the 2020 acquisition by VF Corp — the parent company of The North Face, Vans, Timberland, Eastpak, Napapijri, and Dickies — was the one that finally makes the match comes true.
"Supreme sits at the epicenter of this market opportunity as the original and global category leader. The streetwear model is unique, operating with agility across design, development, marketing, and merchandising," said Steve Rendle, VF Corp's Chairman, President, and CEO, last year.
"Frequent curated drops and a constrained supply philosophy are key elements to driving continuous brand energy and strong consumer engagement. This scarcity, novelty, and strong social influence model supports meaningful pricing power resulting in best-in-class profitability."
"We have known Supreme for many, many years, as you can see with our Vans, The North Face and Timberland businesses, we've been doing collaborations together since the mid-90s. So this was not a competitive [bidding] process. This was really two businesses coming together and talking about an opportunity and how to unlock value for both sides."
Supreme has previously worked with VF-operated labels like The North Face and Timberland for years. The brand also shows devotion to partnering with companies that boast sufficient heritage, like Stone Island, Lacoste, and Vans.
The collection was officially launched in Japan on December 25. Within the same season, we can also enjoy the Supreme x Vans FW21 launched last November 25.

Supreme x Gundam
In addition to officially unveiling its new Dickies collaboration, Supreme also recently teased a Gundam collaboration release. Flaunting the new Supreme/MG 1/100 RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver.3.0 plastic model kit, Supreme posted an animated video featuring the coveted Gundam character engaged in a seismic stop motion battle.
Made in part with Gunpla and Bandai, the video proclaims the Japanese figurine's animated hood as "Gundam Town," describing itself as "a robotic Don Cheadle, dressed as a hot Cheeto!"
The Gundam is styled with a brand new, fiery-red body armor. A Supreme logo dons its arm shield, fighting against a competing Zaku that bows out in defeat. A glass display case containing additional "handy" items like a Supreme-branded blowhorn, a red and yellow handsaw, and a canteen was also featured in the video.
