On the evening of February 16th, the iconic American rock band Linkin Park electrified Jakarta with an unforgettable concert at the Stadion Madya Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), marking the band’s long-awaited return to Southeast Asia. Kicking off the performance with their classic hit “Somewhere I Belong” from the legendary Meteora album, the band immediately set the stage for an explosive night that had fans on their feet.

For many fans, the emotional significance of this concert was palpable. After a seven-year hiatus following the tragic death of original lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017, Linkin Park returned with renewed energy. Now fronted by Emily Armstrong, who took the vocal reins, the band's fresh sound resonated deeply with the audience.

Mike Shinoda, the band's talented rapper and guitarist, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the crowd, saying, “Thank you so much, I just want to say thank you for all the support for the new music from the album ‘From Zero.’” His words were met with deafening cheers from the thousands of loyal fans who filled the stadium.

Despite the rain that soaked the venue, the fans' energy never wavered. Drenched but determined, the crowd belted out every lyric of Linkin Park's iconic hits, including "Crawling" and "New Divide," demonstrating that the bond between the band and its audience remained as strong as ever.

In addition to their greatest hits, Linkin Park introduced their latest track, “The Emptiness Machine,” from their newly released album From Zero. Mike Shinoda encouraged the audience to join in: “If you know the song, please help us sing along,” he said.

With more than 25 songs in their setlist, Linkin Park’s From Zero World Tour in Jakarta was a musical journey, blending the past with the present. The concert marked a significant moment not just for the band but for the fans who had waited for years to see their idols perform live again.

What made this concert even more special was the fact that Jakarta was the only Southeast Asian stop on Linkin Park’s tour. For many fans in the region, this concert was an exclusive chance to experience the band’s comeback and celebrate their new music.

Linkin Park’s 2025 Jakarta performance was a testament to their legacy and ability to evolve. With Emily Armstrong now taking the spotlight, the band has successfully passed the torch while still delivering the raw energy, passionate performances, and powerful messages their fans have always loved.

As the crowd sang in unison under the pouring rain, it was clear: Linkin Park may have gone through some dark times, but they’re far from done.
