The interdisciplinary dance show, La Sirène, is making its way to Indonesia this week, showcasing the exceptional talents of Indonesian and Dutch artists.

This groundbreaking collaboration brings together artists with diverse cultural backgrounds to examine the impact of historical heritage, folklore, and mythology from Indonesia, West Africa, the Caribbean, and the Netherlands on their perspectives and empower them to shape their future.

Leading this innovative project are choreographer Junadry Leocaria and artist Richard Kofi, who will guide 13 Indonesian-based artists, including five visual artists and eight dancers, as they bring their vision to life.

The show's premiere was held at Erasmus Huis on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, at 7 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The second performance will be held at the Salihara Arts Center on Sunday, February 12th, 2023, at 4 PM WIB.

Among the talented dancers gracing the stage are Brisbania Ayu Saraswati Bhakti, Danu Anggada Bimantara, Kathrine Permatasari, Kezia Alyssa Sandy, Mimi Korompis, Rajendra Amira Leila S, Shakira Diva Dovendra Maretazanetti, and Vito Prasasta Adipurwanto.

La Sirène is a celebration of diversity and cultural exchange, bringing together artists from various parts of the world to display their talents and perspectives. This performance is a testament to the power of art in unifying people and exploring universal themes that transcend cultural boundaries.
