The Knowledge of Design Week (KODW) 2024, hosted by the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) in collaboration with esteemed partners, has concluded a groundbreaking three-day event at the W Hong Kong and various locations across Hong Kong. With France as this year's Partner Country, KODW 2024 convened over 30 international experts and creative visionaries, marking a pivotal moment in global design discourse.

Under the theme "Inter/Section: Crafting Tomorrow’s Design," KODW 2024 served as a catalyst for cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation. From June 25 to 27, the event showcased the convergence of artistry, technology, and culture, reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as an international design hub in the Greater Bay Area.

"This year's KODW has been exceptional in its scope and impact," remarked Prof. Eric Yim, Chairman of HKDC. "It has not only fostered transformative dialogues but also positioned Hong Kong as a nexus for cultural exchange and creative innovation."

The event featured a diverse lineup of keynote sessions, workshops, and masterclasses led by luminaries such as Nathalie Crinière of Agence NC and Laurent Ungerer, who shared insights on integrating design across retail and architectural domains. Discussions on craftsmanship by French artisans like Carole Calvez and Mathieu Bassée underscored the event's commitment to exploring the intersection of tradition and technological advancement.

Highlighting the importance of international collaboration, Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, emphasized, "France is honored to partner with KODW 2024, fostering cultural exchanges that transcend borders and inspire new dimensions of creativity."

In addition to enriching discussions and workshops, KODW 2024 featured off-site experiences that showcased Hong Kong’s vibrant creative landscape, including interactive sessions at M+ and K11 MUSEA.

Looking forward, KODW 2024 has set the stage for ongoing initiatives, including the introduction of Maison&Objet to Hong Kong as part of the upcoming "Design December," further solidifying the city's status as a global hub for design and innovation.
