K-POP SENSATION TWICE UNVEILS 'READY TO BE' WORLD TOUR STOP IN JAKARTA
TWICE to Illuminate Jakarta with Their Spectacular 'Ready to Be' World Tour Concert
The global phenomenon K-pop girl group, TWICE, has electrified fans with the announcement of an exhilarating addition to their 'Ready to Be' World Tour – a concert in Jakarta. The news was delivered with much anticipation via an Instagram post by promoter Mecimapro, who shared the excitement of the upcoming event on Monday, August 29, 2023.
The dedicated TWICE fandom, known as ONCE, received the thrilling update about the upcoming performance, marking the group's first-ever stadium show in Jakarta. "ONCE Indonesia! We are honored to be welcoming #TWICE back for their first stadium show in Jakarta! Stay tuned for more details, see you all soon!" Mecimapro's Instagram post exclaimed.
The eagerly awaited concert, featuring the nine-member ensemble, is set to take place on Saturday, December 23, 2023. The Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will play host to this historic event, making TWICE the first K-pop group to command a solo concert at the esteemed venue.
With a seating capacity of up to 82,000 spectators, the Jakarta International Stadium, which opened its doors on July 24, 2022, stands as the largest stadium in Indonesia, surpassing the renowned Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium.
However, the lead-up to this exciting announcement wasn't without its playful twists. On Saturday, August 26, a member of ONCE Indonesia took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), using the handle @dwangxox, to recount an amusing incident. In a video call, TWICE's leader Jihyo playfully claimed that the group had no plans to hold a performance in Indonesia. The revelation sparked a mixture of shock and delight among Indonesian fans, with @dwangxox humorously stating that Jihyo had successfully pranked them. In response, @dwangxox announced a Candybong giveaway, TWICE's iconic lightstick, as a lighthearted gesture of appreciation and amusement.
As fans eagerly await more details about the Jakarta concert, including ticket prices and benefits, TWICE enthusiasts worldwide also celebrated the group's broader world tour plans. Apart from the Jakarta performance, TWICE disclosed three additional shows as part of their 5th World Tour. These concerts will take place in Melbourne on November 4, 2023, Mexico City on February 3, 2024, and Sao Paulo on February 6, 2024. The group's global influence continues to shine brightly, as they captivate audiences around the world with their mesmerizing performances and music.
