Jungkook's solo song titled "Seven" from BTS has successfully debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, and Billboard Global Exclude US on Monday, July 24, 2023, afternoon US time.

This achievement also makes the youngest member of the South Korean boy band the first Asian solo artist to secure the top spot on all three Billboard charts.

Jungkook becomes the second BTS member after Jimin to make it onto the US music charts.

Collaborating with rapper Latto, Jungkook chose "Seven" as his debut solo song. Born in 1997, Jungkook admitted that he admired Latto's rap style, which led him to invite her to collaborate on his solo project. This collaboration perfectly matched the concept of "Seven" that he had in mind.

"We invited her, and she willingly agreed to work together on 'Seven.' Personally, I really like her rap, and I think her voice brings the song to life," Jungkook told Variety.

"I thought it was important for everything to match the overall mood of the song, and Latto's unique charm fit really well," he added.

"Seven" was released in three versions: clean, explicit, and instrumental. The explicit version contains some modified lyrics compared to the clean version.

According to Billboard's report on Monday, "Seven" has garnered a total of 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million plays, and 153 thousand digital and CD sales since its release on July 14.

Meanwhile, British music media, NME, considers "Seven" as a summer-themed song that showcases a new musical side of Jeon Jung Kook as a solo artist. Until now, born in 1997, he has been mainly associated with his image as a BTS member.
