INDONESIAN CUISINE TAKES CENTER STAGE AT ARCHIPELAGO FOOD FESTIVAL IN MAKASSAR

The Archipelago Food Festival (AFF) has returned to promote Indonesian cuisine excellence, this time in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The event was hosted by Harper Perintis Makassar by ASTON, which is celebrating its 8th anniversary and aims to provide satisfaction to all Indonesian culinary lovers in Makassar.

At the event, 13 executive chefs from hotels under the auspices of Archipelago International served 64 dishes from various regions in the archipelago. This included Woku Chicken from Manado, Pammarasan Beef from Toraja, Soto Banjar from Kalimantan, Eungkot Paya from Sumatra, Fried Sambal Embeh Chicken from Bali, Sinjay Duck from East Java, Bekakak Chicken from West Java, Bebalung Soup from Lombok, Tuna Rica Satay and many other menus.

"Our hotel takes great pride in every dish we serve. It's a pleasure to be able to present delicious dishes of Indonesia's rich and varied cuisine at the Archipelago Food Festival. This is an opportunity to share the taste of Indonesia's gastronomic richness as well as promote our hotel as the best culinary destination. At Archipelago, we are committed to providing the best culinary experience, as seen in our restaurants, bars, and cafes," said Winston J. Hanes, Vice President of Operations Archipelago International.

As part of the AFF, visitors were also treated to various traditional dance activities, such as the Toraja dance, Santri sword dance, and Balinese dance, as well as live bands and chef shows.

"Archipelago Food Festival is an activity that is carried out as a roadshow in several cities in Indonesia every month during 2023. As an initiative to support the rise of the tourism industry, especially hospitality, it also introduces culinary delights with the best quality ingredients and professional cooking methods by Executive Chefs from Archipelago hotels," said Denny Frederick, Corporate Executive Chef of Archipelago International.

The AFF is a series of events that showcase Indonesia's rich and diverse culinary traditions. The event is held in different cities throughout Indonesia and is aimed at promoting the country's culinary heritage to locals and visitors alike.
