Major motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson introduces the latest model in the Sportster family. The model, named the Sportster S, has a new engine with more power.

The motorcycle made in Milwaukee, United States, uses the Revolution Max 1250T V-Twin engine that produces power up to 121 HP and a maximum torque of 127 Nm. This engine has previously been used on the Pan America 1250 model, which was introduced earlier.

Harley-Davidson President and CEO Jochen Zeitz said the new Sportster would set a new standard for the Sportster model line. This latest generation delivers the latest performance, power, technology, and style to keep with Harley-Davidson's legendary legacy of 100 years.

Sportster S comes with a robust design. The fuel tank and tail are integrated into the frame, which shows the V-Twin engine as the centre of attention. The massive front tire recalls the fenderless front end of a classic bobber, while the tail section, high-mount exhaust, and slim solo seat draw inspiration from the Harley-Davidson XR750 flat tracker. The thick inverted forks and wide-profile tires suggest a high-performance sportbike.

The engine is wrapped with a lightweight magnesium engine cover with a Chocolate Satin colour finishing to make it more attractive. The details of this motorcycle make the Sportster S like a custom motorbike for exhibitions parked in consumers' garages.

Talking about the 1250 cc Revolution Max 1250T engine, this is the latest Harley-Davidson engine with a V-Twin configuration. The character of this machine presents large torque at lower revs and continues to provide excellent power to accelerate.

Harley places the engine right in the middle of the frame to minimize the weight of the bike. The use of lightweight materials makes the power-to-weight ratio increase.

The latest technology is presented on this motorbike to improve the driving experience. There are three driving modes (Sport, Road, and Rain) that change the performance characteristics electronically. There are two Custom modes that the rider can use to suit personal characteristics or for specific situations. Cornering Rider Safety Enhancement technology makes riders confident when turning in various situations and road conditions.

A touch of technology is also present on the handlebars, namely the presence of a 4-inch TFT service that contains various motorcycle information. This screen can also be connected to the rider's smartphone via a Bluetooth connection connected to the headset device on the helmet. Riders can hear music, incoming and outgoing calls and navigate through the Harley-Davidson app.

Although the classic Harley-Davidson shape still inspires the design, the Sportster S looks more modern with LED lights that can provide bright light when driving at night. The oval shape adds style and character to the front of the bike.

Sportster S already uses Showa adjustable front and rear suspension. The rear suspension features hydraulic preload adjustment using a convenient knob located on the left side of the motorcycle. Lightweight cast-aluminium wheels with a staggered, five-spoke design are shod with wide Dunlop Series GT503 tires.

Premium Brembo braking components produce an excellent braking feel and performance. The single front brake features a new Brembo radial monoblock four-piston calliper and a 320 mm diameter disc. The rear brake is a two-piston Brembo calliper and a 260mm diameter disc.

Following the model, the Sportster S offers a driving style with an aggressive posture due to the low handlebar. The seat height is about 753 mm, low enough for the rider to lower his legs at a red light. The brake and clutch levers can be positioned for easy reach, adjusting to the rider's hand for more comfort. The tank is quite large at 11.8 litres and weighs up to 228 kilograms.

Regarding the price, the Sportster S is sold for 14,999 USD or around Rp. 217 million. This model will arrive in fall 2021 and is already available for pre-order at Harley-Davidson dealerships worldwide.
