Clockenflap 2023: A Spectacular Lineup Set to Rock Hong Kong
Clockenflap, Hong Kong's premier international outdoor music and arts festival, has unveiled an impressive lineup for its upcoming event, set to take place at Central Harbourfront from Friday, December 1, to Sunday, December 3, 2023. Building on its sold-out success in March 2023, the festival's 13th edition will showcase a forward-thinking roster of artists, spanning a wide spectrum from global sensations to regional and local talents, offering an unparalleled experience.
Headlining this year's festival are British Britpop legends PULP, Japanese rising superstar Joji, J-pop sensation Yoasobi, American singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek, and U.K. post-punk heroes IDLES.
Clockenflap prides itself on providing a complete festival experience, with multiple stages, delectable food and beverage options, and a diverse lineup of international, regional, and local acts.
Star Power
Clockenflap 2023 boasts an impressive array of headliners. PULP, fronted by Jarvis Cocker, will headline on Saturday night, followed by Australian-Japanese singer-songwriter Joji on Sunday, marking the finale of his Pandemonium world tour. Japanese chart-toppers Yoasobi will kickstart the festival as Friday night headliners.
Best of Asia
The festival continues its tradition of showcasing Asia's finest talents, including influential Chinese rock band Omnipotent Youth Society, performing alongside seminal Chinese punk band The Fly as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. Taiwanese indie rockers No Party For Cao Dong, known as the voice for a pessimistic generation of Taiwanese youth, are set to impress. J-pop mavericks Wednesday Campanella, Taiwan-based Hong Kong duo Running Youth, and R&B chanteuse 9m88 will also grace the stage, along with talented Chinese singer-songwriter Leah Dou.
So Hot Right Now
Clockenflap's lineup features artists making waves in the music industry, including American singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek, Australian sensation D4vd, high-energy Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko!, American singer-songwriter Alex G, Chinese singer/rapper Lexie Liu, Welsh multi-instrumentalist Novo Amor, and Canadian rapper and singer-songwriter BBNO$.
Indie Trailblazers
Known for introducing top indie acts, Clockenflap welcomes IDLES, Squid, PREP, Yard Act, and Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf.
Music For Connoisseurs
For music enthusiasts, Clockenflap presents post-rock standard bearers Wang Wen and U.S. post-rock veterans Caspian. Beijing-based post-punk duo Gong Gong Gong and Japanese punk band Otoboke Beaver are also on the lineup.
Electrifying Electronica
The festival features a lineup of DJs and electronic acts to set the dancefloor on fire, including legendary DJ/producer Darren Emerson, electro-house duo Peking Duk, bass-drenched slammers Deekline & Ed Solo, DJ/producer Cinthie, and classical and jazz violinist-turned-DJ/producer Xiaolin.
Festival Favourites
Acts renowned for creating magical festival moments include troubadours Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Korean traditional music group ADG7, and British-Taiwanese musician/producer Kamaal Williams.
Hong Kong Heroes
The festival celebrates the local indie scene with performances by hip-hop collective Yack Studio, dreamy lo-fi outfit Science Noodles, producer DJ duo JVSY, and dynamic composer/singer-songwriter/music producer Subyub Lee.
Ticketing Details
Tickets are now available, with three-day weekend tickets priced at HK$1,990 and single-day tickets at HK$1,280. Children aged under three can attend for free, while children aged three to 17 require their own tickets, priced at HK$1,580 for three-day weekend tickets and HK$880 for single-day tickets.
