BMW M5 COMPETITION ARRIVES IN INDONESIA

BMW Indonesia satisfies M fans with the presence of the M5 Competition. Limited with a price of more than Rp 4 billion .

BMW Indonesia has just launched the BMW M5 Competition, Friday (17/9/2021). This sports car is claimed to have the most powerful engine in the history of the BMW M5 model, which was present 36 years ago with a power of 625 hp.

"The various challenges in 2021 have not stopped BMW M's growth in Indonesia, in fact we have very good achievements for the BMW sub-brand which represents this high-performance vehicle," said Jodie O'tania, Director of Communications BMW Indonesia, in a statement.

The New M5 was introduced in the highest variant in Indonesia, namely the BMW M5 Competition. This car uses a V8 engine with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission. The power, as already stated, is 625 hp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 750 Nm at 1800 rpm to 5,860 rpm.

The distribution of power is limited to the rear wheels because the AWD M xDrive drive system is embedded. Rear-wheel drive character with extra spin capability on all four wheels. It supports the best handling with the fully variable Active M Differential capability, limiting the difference in rotational speed of the left and right rear wheels through free locking from 0 to 100 percent.

The M5 Competition takes 10.8 seconds to reach a speed of 200 km per hour from rest. The top speed of this car is limited to 250 km per hour.

This powerful sports car is equipped with BMW M Carbon Ceramic Brakes as standard in terms of safety. These brakes use six-piston calipers at the front and one-piston floating calipers at the rear. This device is claimed to provide better performance, thermal stability, and durability with a trimmed weight of 23 kilograms.

This new M5 design follows an update on the latest 5 series design. The front contains the Twin Kidney Grille, which is connected and positioned slightly below the apron. A pair of lights with sharp designs and bold DRL graphics are the immediate attention. The back of the visible light comes with an L-shaped tail lamp.

The sporty appearance of the M5 Competition is presented thanks to the use of the M-specific kidney grille, air grille gills on the front fenders, aluminum hood, sleek BMW M mirrors, Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic roof. Do not miss the BMW Laserlight technology that fills the sharp corners of the car.

Large air ducts are present on the side. The center cavity is equipped with an oil cooler and radar sensor for the Active Cruise Control system. At the rear, changes include BMW M-specific twin tailpipes with lighter materials.

Prospective consumers can choose two new colors, namely Brands Hatch Green and Motegi Red Metallic. This color complements standard colors such as Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Marina Bay Blue, Donington Gray Metallic, and Bluestone Metallic.

The M5 Competitive is also decorated with a glossy black trim finish along with a darker M5 badge. The legs use 20 inches M light-alloy wheels Y-spoke style 789 M, forged wheels bicolor jet black burnished with mixed tires.

Move to the interior, the latest iDrive operating system is present on the 12.3-inch infotainment screen. This operating system is claimed to be easier and faster to use with various functions in it.

On the center console, two new buttons are also found in the BMW M8. This button provides quick access to system settings and readings on the instrument panel and heads-up display. The M Mode button makes it easy for the driver to choose Road and Sport, driving models.

Several features to increase comfort and driving sensation were added. There is a flap-controlled dual branch exhaust system to adjust the exhaust scream as desired. There is also a driving dynamics mode to customize the handling character.

Most interestingly, Track Mode, through the application of the M Mode feature, can change the power generated. This causes the car to disable the comfort and driving assistance functions leaving the driver with a pure sports car to tame on the circuit.

BMW Indonesia released the latest BMW M5 Competition for IDR 4.789 billion and has off the road status. The number of units entered is confirmed to be limited. Still, BMW Indonesia continues to open the door for maximum sales for BMW M fans.

"This new luxury sports car is the best combination of all the luxury and comfort of a business sedan combined with high performance and cutting-edge technology. This sports car is available in limited quantities but can still be ordered until next year, "said O'tania.
