Surabaya became one of the metropolitan cities in Indonesia a very long time ago. As in the metropolitan cities, everything comes easier there but costs at a higher price, just like in Jakarta. So many people claim that Surabaya has almost similar things that Jakarta has completed with its little Chinatown in Indonesia.

Based on the consumer index price, Surabaya has nearly IDR 6.1 million per person for their living expenses in a month. Outside the basic food needs, the expenses for home living and entertainment also come at a higher rate than similarly close to the rate in Jakarta.
