Despite suffering a loss to Australia, the Garuda squad secured a crucial victory against Bahrain at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, propelling them up four places in the global standings. The milestone has been met with enthusiasm and optimism, especially from the Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, who sees it as proof that perseverance and dedication yield results.

“Alhamdulillah, the win against Bahrain in the Asian World Cup Qualifiers has pushed Indonesia up four places to 123rd in the FIFA rankings. This is our best position in the last 15 years,” Erick stated in Jakarta on Thursday (April 3).
