ARCHIPELAGO’S ARCHARITY RUN 2024: A UNIFYING EFFORT FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL IMPACT
Archipelago's Inaugural Archarity Run 2024: A Successful Blend of Health, Community, and Social Impact.
Archipelago, Southeast Asia’s largest hotel operator, hosted its inaugural Archarity Run 2024 on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Rasuna Epicentrum Jakarta. The event marked a significant milestone for the company, not only in promoting a healthy lifestyle but also in demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility. Drawing 550 participants from over 53 hotels across the Archipelago network, the 5KM race was a remarkable display of unity and enthusiasm.
Beyond the race itself, Archarity Run 2024 was designed to support a noble cause. All funds raised from the event were donated to Rumah Singgah Yayasan Lilin Pelita Kasih in West Jakarta, an organization dedicated to providing support for children and women battling cancer. The event highlighted how sporting activities can serve as a powerful vehicle for positive social change.
The 5KM race was filled with spirited competition, and the top three finishers received both cash prizes and special gifts from the event’s sponsors. The winners included Dedek Sukmara from favehotel Cimanuk Garut (1st place), Zaky Ramadhan from Aston Cirebon Hotel & Convention Center (2nd place), and Muhammad Iqbal Ramadhan from favehotel Padjajaran Bogor (3rd place).
“The Archarity Run is more than just a race; it represents the values we hold dear as a company and as a community,” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago. “We believe in the power of unity to create meaningful change. This event not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also offers real support to those in need. It’s inspiring to see how our collective efforts today will directly benefit Rumah Singgah Yayasan Lilin Pelita Kasih and the incredible work they do.”
The event also saw strong participation from Archipelago’s leadership, with CEO John Flood, Chief Commercial Officer Chris Legaspi, Vice President of Operations Winston Hanes, and Vice President of Finance Heru Purwono all present to show their support.
Dede Sukmara, the first finisher of the race and a participant from favehotel Cimanuk Garut, shared his excitement: “I’m so happy to be part of this event, running alongside my hotel colleagues for a charity supporting children with cancer. I hope our donation will make a difference in their lives, and I look forward to participating in more charitable events in the future.”
Archipelago’s commitment to social impact was also reflected in the support from various companies that contributed to the success of the event. Sponsors such as Provices Group, Rasuna Epicentrum, Squeeze, and many others played a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for the participants.
The success of Archarity Run 2024 marks the beginning of Archipelago’s long-term dedication to organizing events that not only promote wellness but also encourage social solidarity. The company has expressed its intention to continue expanding its social responsibility initiatives in the years to come, offering more opportunities for the community to come together for a meaningful cause.
By fostering both health and philanthropy, Archipelago has set a powerful example of how businesses can contribute positively to society while strengthening the bonds within their own communities.
